Sadie's Celebration

Sadie Ann entered this world and she changed our lives; when Sadie left this world, she changed our hearts.

Sadie HAD a purpose – she brought joy, laughter, and so much goodness to this life. It didn’t matter whether you’ve met her or just saw a picture or video, you felt joy. Her purpose on Earth was to complete our family and bring happiness to all.

Now, Sadie’s life HAS a new purpose – to bring goodness to those around you with God’s love. I can spend the rest of this celebration telling you all the goodness that I’ve seen through the people here… you ALL have been doing the work of God – know that.

Psalm 27:13 says, “I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the lord in the land of the living.”

Trent and I need you to know that in the most unbearable, darkest, and unfathomable pain – God is good. We have felt God’s love since the beginning of all this agony. If we don’t believe that goodness will come out of this darkness, then we have nothing to hold on to. We need you to know that it’s going to be okay. This is the beginning of Sadie’s story.

Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that in all things. God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Thank you for wearing pink in honor of a life that was so bright and full of love.

I can never begin to thank you for your prayers, giving and support. I pray that you will continue to care for each other as you have cared for us.

I would like to give a special thank you to one particular group—my amazing senior class.

Last year, I didn’t understand why I was chosen to teach only one senior class—now I know. You were meant to be a rock for me to lean on in the darkest time. YOU ALL are the example that I hope Sadie’s life brings to this world. I want you to remember this feeling right now, and how much goodness you’ve done for me and my family, and please never stop. We are forever grateful for the generosity that you’ve shown.

Sadie Ann was bigger than life. She was too good for this world, in every aspect, which is why her place is in Heaven.

Sweet Sadie, we love you, we miss you, and we will see you soon.
